Welcoming Afghan Families

For almost 20 years, the United States military has worked with Afghan partners to find and fight terrorists that threaten our way of life. With our nation’s decision to leave Afghanistan, many of these partners were left no choice but to seek refuge in the United States or face the possibility of retaliation from the Taliban. Over the coming weeks and months, thousands of Afghan refugees will arrive in the United States with no belongings or sense of direction. Operation Golden Shield is seeking to alleviate a few of the many worries that these refugees will face. Working both independently and alongside other non-profit partners, our team of Cadets and Midshipmen will be constructing and delivering hygiene kits, infant kits, and refugee survival kits, and connecting refugees with language classes and housing support. Our success in helping our partners is dependent on your support.
