With over 4,000 homeless Veterans, a majority of which are older than 55 or have a critical disability, San Francisco's homeless Veterans needs the help of its community. Although the number of homeless Veterans have decreased by over 15% since 2018, many continue to benefit from the help from community organizations.
The San Francisco committee of Operation Golden Shield from the Bay Area will meet the immediate needs of homeless veterans currently enrolled in San Francisco's most prominent homeless veteran non-profit, Swords to Plowshares. We will deliver "Winter Survival Kits" to our nation's veterans to better equip our heroes to get through these difficult times.
San Francisco's Operation Golden Shield committee successfully delivered over 50 Winter Survival Kits containing hygiene, warmth, and sustenance items, to homeless veterans throughout the Bay Area.
