Cole Massaro is a rising junior in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University and serves as an Outreach Coordinator at Operation Golden Shield. He brings a deep commitment to grassroots service, with years of experience organizing community-based relief for food-insecure families, veterans, and underserved populations.

As President of the Blauvelt Lions Club and the Tappan Zee Community Service (LEO) Club in Rockland County, New York, Cole led a dramatic expansion of student engagement, growing the club’s membership from 25 to over 300. He played a central role in organizing large-scale soup kitchen efforts with Soup Angels of Nyack, NY—coordinating volunteer shifts, managing food donations, and personally helping prepare and serve nutritious, hot meals to over 500 individuals facing food insecurity. These experiences gave Cole a hands-on understanding of the logistics, urgency, and human impact behind community hunger relief.

In addition to his direct service work, Cole spearheaded a raffle fundraiser that raised more than $2,500 to support cancer survivors and presented innovative fundraising strategies at the Lions Club International Convention (2022-2024). 

At Operation Golden Shield, Cole channels this experience into strengthening outreach programs and building community partnerships. He works to ensure that OGS remains responsive to the unique needs of local populations while fostering student leadership in humanitarian action.
