Christian E. Flournoy

Director of Chapter Development & Outreach , Operation GOlden Shield

As a Human Biology, Health & Society (Pre-Med) major and Health Policy minor at Cornell University, his studies focus on effectively helping people by combining medicine and healthcare with a socioeconomic understanding of health problems to directly impact and improve the well-being of different communities. Along with being an aspiring physician, his desire to help underserved and underrepresented populations stems from his background as an Eagle Scout and being the son of a 20-year Navy Veteran. His work serving and advocating for these communities has been recognized on a national scale, as he is a recipient of the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award and United States Congressional Award Gold Medal—Congress’s highest award for youth.

Along with his devotion to service, Christian embodies OGS’s leadership commitment through his years of experience and his current positions as Executive Vice President of Cornell University’s Student Assembly and President of the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. His servant leadership mindset has allowed him to successfully lead service and volunteer projects at Cornell and back home in Atlanta, Georgia. He attributes his organizational management, public speaking, and critical thinking skills to his five-plus years of medical/research experience, where he has gained an improved understanding of the healthcare system from patient interactions to presenting co-authored research.

Serving for OGS means positively impacting the lives of people who have devoted themselves to serving our country and ensuring those who are less fortunate receive the assistance they deserve. Christian is excited to contribute to OGS’s mission and is ready to continue helping those in need.
